In a big press release, KFC has announced the launch of 3d printing technology in its kitchen. YES you read it right, KFC (short for Kentucky Fried Chicken) is an American fast food restaurant chain headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky, that specializes in fried chicken. It is the world's second-largest restaurant chain (as measured by sales) now 3d prints chicken nuggets.
In the season of pandemic, where people are not able to think apart from corona virus, KFC leads their way to INDUSTRY 4.0 by introducing additive manufacturing technology. By doing so they have already announced their leadership and commitment to become Restaurant of the future. The company teamed up with research lab of Moscow, 3Dnatives, 3D Bioprinting Solutions, will use a process called as 3d bio-printing, which combines cells of chicken with plant material, and has three advantages. According to them, bio-meat is a cleaner product, because it has the same micro-elements as the original product, without the additives of farming. Cell-based meat is considered to be more ethical than traditional meat farming. And, meat grown from cells has a very small impact on the environment. So what does this means a signature taste + specific size + exact quantity served every time fresh and most importantly in each and every restaurant. So this will minimize errors in fact maybe error free cooking with same nutrients and taste. Also minimum human involvement will be needed, so actually cutting off the need of specialized staff for preparation.
Wow, there you see why you need to be ready with 3d printing technology. In food industry, anyhow KFC is not first to adopt or introduce the technology. 3d printing technology is already being used by many in food industry. Astronomers were maybe first people to use 3d printing technology in food.. So the concept is quite old, 3d printing is used to make sweets, chocolates, spaghetti, pizza and too many other food items.
So hello future, people may don't need to cook their food but 3d print them and that also remotely
